What kind of sites do you accept?

Only submissions that meet our guidelines.

Do you accept websites with popups?

We do but popups are limited to only 1 and must not annoy the web user. If your website gets complaints that it installs any type of software/scriptware without permission of the user your website will be instantly blacklisted, and will not be reviewed. The only exception to this rule is if somebody else runs the domain and the whois information is different then the one blacklisted, then we will consider reviewing your website for inclusion in our Open Directory.

Does a website have to have high rankings to be reviewed/included?

No it doesn't because the ranking system can be flawed to include bad sites with good rankings, what we want is a website to have good unique content.

Guidelines (Please read or your website may possibly not be accepted and you may have wasted our time reviewing a website that doesn't meet the guidelines

Your website must be totally unique and have something different to offer then current websites listed in our directory. You are allowed to use scripted websites such as PHPBB, PHPLD, or whatever scripts you like but your design and content must be totally unique. We may consider sites with the same design if it has different and totally unique content not found on any other website in our directory.
When this website allows editors in the future We will consider content and usability to the average web user then worry about the design.

Your website must not meet the rejected content list, if we see anything in the keywords that relates to sites in that list it will not even be reviewed and possibly blacklisted. Worst case spam submissions will result in possible IP Blocks and reporting to the ISPs.

Your website must be well presented well, must not conatin corrupted code, or errors. This can cause potential problems and cause a possible vulnerability to web hackers. Any website found with this type of code or related to it will be rejected.

Your website must be current, some examples that are not accepted is,

1. (2001 news is the most Recent) Sep 11, 2001: Today the twin towers got attacked by terrorists and this is current news in September 2001
2. (Old news is the most recent posted) June 21, 2004: Today my website has just been extablished and I will not work on it anymore but I will still submit it anyways :P

So anything that is not current or at least being maintained may be rejected or taken off if any error occurs and the problem is not resolved.

Your website must not be under any form of construction. Updating a website is ok as long as you don't change the sites focus from what it was meant to focus on. If anything on the page is under construction then it will not be accepted until you complete your website, then you can bug us about Suggesting your website.

Your website must be trustworthy, that means it cannot be a Multi-Level-Marketing site because theres too much bad talk about it and it is forbidden by paypal and several other places. All a site needs to be trustworthy is have contact information such as a email address, a name of the webmaster, and must have a valid DNS Record. Private DNS Registrations are also allowed for submited websites but they must at least share their email and name to be considered trustworthy. If the website is just a personal page it still needs at least a email so the user can be contacted when any problems occur.

Your website must at least either easily accessible or very fast. We will not accept websites that take minutes to load. It must be on at least a good host, if your website goes down a lot because of a unreliable host then the website will be removed for being unreliable. We list websites not blank pages or 404s.
